Water savings
Through process control and the reuse of this natural resource, more than 40 million liters of water are saved each year, in addition to 100% use of water in the reverse osmosis process.
We use and improve technologies aimed at sustainable development, such as monitoring the amount of water and electricity used in the production process and controlling the generation of solid and liquid waste.
We have implemented several actions to promote environmental awareness and education aimed at the company itself and the general public.
We reaffirm our commitment to guarantee the high-quality standard of our products along with the preservation of the planet.
In order to contribute to sustainable actions, we participate in the following programs:
To promote high-quality products with environmental awareness and responsibility, we launched the SUSTENTARE line, produced with 85% less indigo dye. This decrease in indigo consumption allows for further reductions along the textile chain, such as 50% water savings and 66% reduction in the generation of organic load in the effluent, in addition to providing better performance in the textile processing carried out in the laundry.
Through process control and the reuse of this natural resource, more than 40 million liters of water are saved each year, in addition to 100% use of water in the reverse osmosis process.
Through excellent effluent treatment processes, we return water with the highest level of quality to the respective water and sewage company in the State where each unit is located.
More than 12 thousand tons of offset gases result from replacing fossil fuel with biomass (firewood from forest management and cashew nut shells) in the generation of the steam used in the production process.
Through the distributed micro-generation regime, the energy generated through the solar panels supplies all the electricity demand of the administrative sector.
Santana Textiles reaffirms its commitment to sustainability by using indigo dye with zero aniline content. Aniline is a substance that is toxic to the environment and to people and is usually present in the formulation of indigo dye. With the removal of this compound from the company's products, we contribute to a safer and more sustainable chain.
